CGS 07 Gate Sequencer Problem

After ten years of gathering dust on my bench, i finally finished my CGS07 gate sequencer last night. It seemed to be running just fine at first, but a few minutes into testing, it deadlocked on step one. I read about the issue in the build instructions, and tried toggling the loop hold switch and cycling power, to no avail. I have replaced the LM358 on the main board with a TL072, tried it with and without the 100n cap between pins 1 and 3 of the op amp on the main board. I noticed that if I apply a voltage to the disable jack and then remove it, it will run for a few seconds again before deadlocking on step one. I'd be very grateful if anyone has a suggestion as to how to proceed. Thanks!
