Simple mixer question

Simple mixer question

2009-06-02 by david rickert

Ken,

I want to mix three audio signal (from VCOs) non-inverted to a single
output. What would be the best (simplest) board to do this with?

I keep getting confused with the terminology. I looked at the DC mixer
but I suspect that this just mixes the part of the signal that is 0v and above.
What I'm looking for is something that can mix signals that are 10v pp and
centered on 0v.

Thanks,

David

The DC mixer will do the job. It is not limited to any particular voltage
range. The DC specification is because it can be used to add DC voltages
(both positive and negative). It is a DC coupled mixer.

I've got a quick, semi-related question. I've been recording some things lately, and pick up a scratchy pot (sounds like wind blowing on a mic.). I don't hear it when I listen through my speakers. I've tried to hunt it down and can't find it! (big difference, though. after the mixer, going to the speakers goes through a hifi tube amp. Getting recorded going from mixer to PC sound card. I know the amp has dc blocking caps (I built it).

So.. am I on the right track in thinking that scratchy sound is DC leaking through somewhere? and if so, could I add a cap to my DC mixer, which I am only using as my final synth audio mixer?

thanks!
