CGS28 sequencer problems

CGS28 sequencer problems

2008-09-01 by Jeff Laity

I'm building the CGS28 sequencer for MOTM format using the
Bridechamber panel. It's assembled, but when I power it up and send
clock I only see a faint pulse on the first LED. It doesn't progress
to any of the other steps. I've tried the two mods:

TL074 pin 8: change 22k to 100k
4516 pin 15: cut trace, 4.7k to ground. (Actually I used a 4.3k
resistor because that was all I had.)

I have a TI part for my 4516 and I used a TL074 for the input buffer.
There are some photos of my build here:

I am using the square wave LFO of a Moog Voyager to clock the unit. I
tried disconnecting the step switch completely with no change.

If you have any ideas to get my unit working, I would appreciate the
help. Thank you, -jl

The cap was in the schematic but not in the text. I'll add it.

I thought that was 5V. I'm sending it to the reset button and the buss
bar for steps. Now that I measure it, it's right around 0V.

I need to write a new schematic so I can figure out what's going on
with this circuit. I'll try to do that tonight.

Orange line was supposed to be 15V. I switched it and added the cap
but no change yet.

Scott, I just noticed the diagram on your page has a diode before each
gate switch. I did not do this. I just printed your diagram and I'll
try this mod tonight.
