Cgs synth

this doesn't earn me some sort of nickname because i'm pretty sure this may
be a first.

Last year I was fixing on of JH's phasers with the two lightbulbs in it. One
globe failed, so I hunted around until I found a couple of matching 6V
globes and whacked them in. I had the same sort of problem. Damn thing kept
flashing at the wrong rate. I had used a pair of flashing globes.....

but it does look to have a small black thing (ic ?) inside.

Yup, that's a flashing LED. It probably also has a very short third leg.
