Casio SK60 expansion

Casio SK60 expansion

2013-04-15 by Graham

Hi everyone, I just picked up an SK60 on ebay. I'm going to do my standard 16x sample memory expansion on it when it arrives - looking at the service manual, it seems a pretty standard job, same expansion as the SK5/8/DM100 I've done a couple of times now.

But here's the trick: once done, I'm going to take out the circuit board and shoehorn it into my modded, expanded DM100 mega beast!

Can't wait! - as per usual, I'll document everything I do and put up a guide here for anyone interested.

Cheers, Graham

It does sound like a good plan. I just got my DM and was thinking what could be done to it. Like a sequencer etc. etc.

I have always thought I am responsible for the sk60 XD

In New York (many moons ago) you could find NOS sk1's almost anywhere.
I'd buy them up, and inquire about them everywhere I went.

After sometime the stock dwindled and then nil.
I would ask every merchant to find out for me if they somehow could get more.

I did this all around the 5 Burroughs for years... Finally one day while back in this spot I hadn't been for some time, after asking several times. They had many things -so I just decided to check what's what.

There it was, the sk60. I was told they just came in the day before. I bout two on the spot...

The guy made a joke too, saying ~~~ I guess they heard yr request... I laughed it off, yet it did get me thinking X)

Cheers
