Re: [casiocollectors] FZ optional software

2014-03-29 by <jimshoppin@...>

Ah ok. I thought the point of Omniflop was to be able to write floppies for various floppy drives types, such as Shugart.
It's pointless for Omniflop to have Casio FZ20M floppy image drivers if it can't use them.

That explains why, even though Omniflop writes your provided images fine to my FZ floppies, using the Casio FZ20M HD driver in Omniflop, without error, my FZ-1 cannot make sense of the burnt disks.
The optional disks remain out of reach, lol.

I just paid for a Lotharek floppy emulator. Damn they are expensive!!! Too expensive! I need 5 of them oO!
Got tired of saving every project twice just in case one floppy goes bad overnight. When you do this for multiple samplers it gets a right PITA. Even after verifying the floppies are good by formatting them first in the Akai S1000 (which checks for bad blocks), things are not certain.
I have CF readers in all my samplers with SCSI but for the rest... the floppy emulator is the only way to go... Need to sell a couple of kidney's to afford em though. Lotharek must make a very tidy profit on each one he sells.

My problem now is deciding which sampler gets the emulator.
Erm... so no thanks m8. I can't bring myself to buy yet another floppy drive, cheers.
