BCR2000: Reset Preset

BCR2000: Reset Preset

2010-03-15 by fieldswn

Hi All,
Is there a way to reset/reload a preset, including all knob values, without restarting the machine?

For example, I turn it on. It comes up on preset 1. All knob values are set to 0. I turn a few knobs, make some changes. Now, I want to reload the preset, so all knob values are set back to their original values (0 in this case). Is there a way to do this?

When I change to another preset and then switch back, the modified values are still there. It is not reset.

Thanks,
-Bill

I can't immediately think of a simple way.
(You might send the initial values from the computer to the BCF/BCR, but that's of course not what you're looking for, and doesn't even work in all cases.)

You're totally right about this.
The BCF and BCR treat the 32 presets as one big super-preset, which has its advantages and disadvantages.

See "BC MIDI Implementation.pdf" (sections 14.3 and 14.4) for a detailed discussion of this very tricky subject.

Best wishes,
Mark.

Mark,
Thanks for your response. I think I figured out a work-around. I copied the original preset over and over again, so when I need to reset and get a "fresh" version, I just skip to the next preset.
