Option & Play Clip = stop channel instead of stop specific clip?

After a lot of frustration with the build quality of the unit, I'm back using my BCR2000 and a bespoke version of Mackie Mode 5.0a that I made using BCManager (basically just copying and pasting, and freeing up some encoders and buttons). I've (re)-concluded that it is actually the best controller for Ableton, and am prepared to live with the rather shabby assembly, and possibly even just accept I'll need to replace it once in a while. I guess it's not expensive really.

Anyway... I've just about got my perfect set-up now. One final touch that would make me really happy is to have the ability to stop a channel playing with the Option & Play combo, which currently just stops the specific clip. It can take considerably longer to navigate to the clip, which when performing is an issue. You can obviously also click play in an empty clip, providing the stop button hasn't been removed, but since only one clip can be playing at one time in a channel, it would seem sensible for the Option & Play button combo to stop the channel regardless of which row you are on.

This is beyond my programming abilities at the moment, so any help would be gratefully received.
