colin- I've got v4 in both my machines, & both have the new displays. I'll need to check which build exactly, but this might be a clue- the machine at home still goes into screensave mode, but the other machine (in the live rig) doesn't. ¿que pasa?

I'm going to 4.5 on this machine anyway, but I can't find a menu option in it currently to stop the screen going blank every five minutes...

You should find the screensaver option in the user conf menu.

duh!  :-)

no, really, have a look at the beta build(s) of v4, which is what I was running until about 8.30 last night.... it wasn't there. the screensave is always enabled, no way to switch it off. honest!

 anyway, now I have 4.5 on it & I'm finding it much easier to get my head round a pool of tracks that have unique numbers but can pop up anywhere in a given bank. more logical, I reckon.

the other machine (the one that lives in stockport) has a later v4 build which does have the sceensaver config option.

Maybe I should have put more emphasis on the *should*.
It always indicates a degree of uncertainty :-)
