That would indeed make an external box redundant... as long as you can freely assign CC's, as you say there's an issue with controlling your octatrack. There's no issue controlling my Octatrack, in fact some operations are slicker using Cirklon than from the Octatrack's own controls (e.g. Cirklon has true independent track lengths, something Octatrack doesn't, yet). Cirklon's mixer can stay open as scenes change but if you need to manually change a pattern you currently need to leave the mixer page. Similarly to access the track values you currently need to get to the track and page for the values you want in order to tweak the encoders. I have a couple of MIDI controllers routed permanently through Cirklon to a specific synth and hardware looper (Repeater) and those controllers give me instant access regardless of Cirklon's pages - a technique I think that will always be useful even as Cirklon's control powers grow. I can record a new Cirklon pattern with controller tweaks in it at any time, which is rather lovely also. > More info on the bitstream: http://www.waveidea.com/en/products/bitstream_3x/ Looks a wicked controller - I seem to recall the SOS review now you mention it. -- Paul --- http://www.softroom.co.uk http://paulnagle.bandcamp.com/ ** live album available **
