The primary function of the ck patterns was to support polyphonic drum patterns. I worked through a few different ways of doing those, starting with variations on the P3 pattern format, but ultimately decided that the event list was probably the most efficient way of doing it. Plus it had the added advantage of handling poly keyboard parts with controller streams. The OS so far has had most of the effort in ck patterns geared towards percussion programming via grid edit. There is an event list editor, but it isn't as functional as the MPC one. In fact, I'm looking at re-writing the event list editor to make it more like the MPC, after having played around with an MPC60 for the first time a few months ago. At the moment you get one big list, like in Cubase. You can step through it by bars, but it can be tricky to keep track of how bar, beat and tick numbers relate to the equivalent 'step' positions in a P3 pattern. The MPC method of showing you the events within a single step worth of time will fit the Cirklon user interface better. Cheers, Colin
