most people dont mind staring into the computer screen and navigating with the low-bandwidth x-y pointer device, but there seems to 
be a few of us who would like the power a computer DAW gives but without having to subject ourselves to the interface every time we 
want to hit start or stop : )

i belive cubase vst was the last incarnation that would sync to midi clock.

and ableton has that damn irritating thing where it goes back to bar1 beat1 evrey time you restart from an external device.... 
grrr....

Me?  Ive given up and bought a hardware DAW (which, yeah, still has to be the master, but at least i dont have to use the mouse all 
the time!)
