I think there was talk of a means of setting next step via an aux event but for your needs here, Colin's rotate suggestion seems pretty good. Or you could Skip the steps then get into pattern edit, ready to unskip them when you hit "Run" and pass step 4. Or if there are specific notes you want to start with that are different to the rest of the sequence there are ways to grab them from elsewhere, or unmute "Set Note" events based on an accumulator etc. There's usually a way - perhaps if you explained it from a musical stance I'd understand better. Another thought: You could use two different patterns - a 'starting' pattern and a 'loop' pattern. Then you could specify a playlist in part1 that selected the first pattern and a different playlist in part 2 selecting the second. Hold the part 1 and part 2 keys so part 2 plays as soon as part 1 ends, then, as soon as part 2 starts, hit the part2 key to deselect part1. This is how I'd do "intros". I reckon a "one shot part chain" future enhancement could be cool, so it starts at the first selected part and ends by looping on the last in the chain. That would let you do such things automatically. Maybe holding Func when setting up the part chain would be a good way to specify this behaviour? Idle thoughts...
