Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

ok, so my 'new' s1100 turned up today and, to my horror, its the most 
basic model!  os v1.01, 2mb ram & no HD!  $250?  }x-o

so, i bought the os4.3 chip from ebay, intend to move 2 * 2mb chips 
from my s1000pb until i can find some 8mb boards and want to install a 
230mb optical where the floppy drive is.  scsi is not an issue (i can 
see where that runs too!) but i'm wondering where i'd plug the power 
line in to?  i dont think that the cable running to the floppy will 
supply enough power for an optical drive (i might be wrong) so wonder 
where else i can pull power from!?
