Since the time I posted on here I have aquired a s2000. I know this is a s1000 group but was hoping somebody may be able to help me out.
When using akaidisc in windows xp and windows 2000 I get errors when trying to format. I can format a disc using omniflop ok. When I used windows 98 I transfered the wav files across using akaidisc but there was no audio on the disc after I loaded it into the s2000 although it did recognise the files on the floppy I had used.
Does anybody have any ideas for getting wavs onto a floppy so the s2000 can use them.
I am just starting out so apologees if this seems basic. I have done a fair bit of reading with no solution
Cheers
Andy

lucky for you!
i was just about to leave the group
:-)
before i do, i can try to help you, because i had
the same problem:
i bought a win98 computer for just this purpose and
i did get akai disc to writ samples, and they were on the disc, but no audio was
present "in" the files....
the problem might be (this was in my case) that the
audio header of the file was not suited for this good old piece of
software.
it took me ages to find out.
first check the file size that was written on the
disc.
if your wav filer is 1mb - it
should be about the same size on the akai disc. (you can see this displayed on
the left hand side of akaidisc, after the file is written on the
floppy)
if it is the problem i was facing the files are
only a few kb on the disc. (example, your wav file is 1mb, the file on the akai
disk is only 24k)
what you need to do then is open the file with an
OLD programm, then just save it again, and it will have a "old" audio
header.
then akaidisc can transfere it with no
problem.
i found an old software that helbed me here.
it is freeware and can be found in the www, called "SAMPLED"
here you have a function called "clone" - it just
copies the sample within the program and then you can save it under a new
name.
try that
best wishes,
si
