Hi Gary The S1000s have four slots for proprietary Akai memory boards. These boards are 4 meg each so you're maxed out at 16 meg. You can install four 8 meg boards to get a full 32 meg but I believe you have to make a modification to the motherboard first. You can get the boards from here but they're expensive: http://www.firstpr.com.au/rwi/smem/ I've also seen them come up on ebay from time to time so it may be worth checking there. Good luck.
