Re: [akaiS1000S1100Samplers] New Member (Interested in Mellotron Samples for S1000 or S2000) Advice Needed

2007-05-24 by Robert Cary

Hi

I've tried a quite a few mellotron samples but I
found the "Michael Pinder Presents Mellotron" to
be the best:

http://www.mellotron.com/cdlist.htm

With the exception of the "Mk II Rhythms" I've
found it all very usable.

I did have a few problems with it on my S1000
though, due to each bank being 16mb (the samples
are 8 secs long with no looping just like the
real thing). My S1000 only had 8mb and it seems
pretty difficult to pick one up with anything
more. Might be worth taking this into
consideration if you're thinking about the S1000.
You can still get it to work with less memory by
up half of the samples.

I've since upgraded to an S3200xl with full 32mb
for a little less than my S1000 and a lot less
than it would have cost me to upgrade the memory.
Now I can stack two banks for really big
mellotron sounds.
