You are correct about the TEAC FD-235HF, I found one
for my S1100 at my local ghetto used computer shop for
$2.95. There's a lot of variations of that model and
I'm pretty sure as long as it has a drive select
jumper and a disk ready jumper you're good to go. I
can tell you for sure that the drive I replaced mine
with was not the same as the original but it works
great.
