Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

Hi Folks!

I'm trying to do direct-to-disk recording on an S1100 (26Mb RAM, + 
digital I/O board) fitted with an internal SCSI ZIP drive. The ZIP works 
quite well for saving/loading samples, programs and everything but if I 
try to do direct-to-disk recording (DD) the S1100 complains with an 
"HARDWARE CHANGE NEEDED FOR DD OPERATION" message as soon as I try to 
get a new take :^( any ideas?

I'm using a fresh ZIP disk, just formatted leaving all space (94Mb) for 
dd recording. Operating system is version 4.30 wich seems to be tha latest.
