ZO's thru Analogue Haven!

Re: ZO's thru Analogue Haven!

2006-11-01 by Bakis Sirros

hello list,
OK, sorry, now i see. there is a big price rise in the ZO in the
cyndustries site! so, the ZO price is now 995 USD regardless if you
buy it direct or from analogue haven.
so, my verdict is that selling the ZO thru analogue haven is a GREAT
decision, as the AH service is simply awesome!
best regards,
Bakis.

hello,
yes, but, 995 USD???
all other modules from other manufacturers (plan b,
livewire, bananalogue) have the same prices when you
buy them direct (if possible) or from analogue haven.
why this huge price rise from 750 USD to 995 ???

Hi
analogue haven i found superb also but i only ordered goods they said were in stock and which were.
Analogue haven delivery arrived very quickly for me and they were by far the most reliable people i have dealt with in many years . . . . . . . . does anyone know if ' pre order 'with them means . . . pay now and then get module ' later' and ' how ;' later later is ' is it forever later ? plan b later ( i think that can be a Very long time ' though again via analogue haven it can be within 3 days ! ? or maybe its like 'much later ' ? I guess analogue haven will want to keep on top of things and keep a good name so its a good move really .
Forever ?
. . . ' forever ' is an interesting concept in terms of delivery times and a new one on me .Thats very funny .
: how long for delivery ? ' = it will take forever and we will require you finance the whole production costs first on your module via full payment , this will speed up delivery possibly if enough do also - thankyou and good day - see you in 2024 :) '
Price hike i guess means cynthia is now building smaller batches to more 'specific delivery times or planning a holiday :) or has changed working method and overheads are as a result of small batches (higher costs ?) , seems like some sensible choices though . . . . especially analogue haven .Price wise its still a fair price for an amazing module ..........
Ps can anyone advise me what drugs these modular makers smoke so i dont take them........( ok so i may have already )
Apologies for any negativity / positivity - trying to find the middle way . . .
onwards and good luck cynthia and keep on , were just jaded miserable musicians who never get paid by labels and never find contenment and are lost in an eternal cycle of gear lust / tormented by studio technology magazines and ' new ' gear .

In my experience, pre order means they will not charge until they take delivery and that they ship immediately thereafter. Hence the 'email for availability' next to some products. They essentially take plan b length delay times as their own risk.

My experience with them has been 100% positive.

Do you expect the added middle-man should provide his service to you
for FREE? Cynthia's costs still remain the same, so AH has to add a
couple hundred dollars on top.

I'm sure AH wouldn't appreciate Cynthia selling her ZO's for $250
less. I bet they made a non-compete agreement so Cynthia has to
raise here price to match AH at $1000.

I celebrate Cynthia's decision to do this.
As previously discussed, this will markedly improve customer
satisfaction.
And YES, OF COURSE she needs to raise the prices!!

So let's not start a thread on "ewwwww, these prices are too
high!!!", people.

If you really like the product, and you want it fast, PAY UP.

Well done, Cynthia!!

thats right folks , your being punished for speaking the truth , cynthia was like , f . . . those arrogant customers and betrayers , i will show them , i;ll charge them more . .(joke for those who didnt get it ) , its a sensible price hike so production can be undertaken on a smaller level which doesnt involve people waiting years,Still a good price i feel ? Remember that they started at $650! A $345 increase. Over a 50%
increase on one of the (already) most expensive modules (Buchla,
ModuSonics and Cirocco not included) out there.

I had the 2 ZOs on my wish list and they were next for purchase!!!
But I literally just crossed them off. There are many more things I
want that I will get more value out of. I am sure I am not the only
one crossing ZOs off of their wish lists today.

The VALUE of this module just plummeted!

I am assuming that most other manufacturers give a discount to AH as
well. Paul over at MOTM ONLY sells his Frac Rac modules through AH
AFAIK, but the price is about the same as it would be if he sold them
directly. The time it takes to deal with customers directly and to
handle shipping (and the associated headaches) is very expensive--this
is how manufacturers justify passing on that savings to retailers.

[The_Cyndustries_List] Re: ZO's thru Analogue Haven!

2006-11-01 by > angelzero <

I've spent a lot of money (for me anyway) just
recently building up a 'core' modular system and the
ZO seemed like a logical step for my growing interest
in eclectic/strange/exciting modules. Not being ready
to buy but anxiously awaiting my bonus (pay off the
credit card already!) I was hoping to place an order
in January.

I had a pretty serious case of sticker shock when I
visited AH after the announcement. I thought "God, AH
couldnt mark up *that* much, could they?!?

If demand is high enough to warrant that kind of price
jump, Cynthia must be absolutely swamped with all
those orders. Great for her business, not so great
for me.

Looking forward to Cynthia's other MOTM format
modules,
Hans

I don't post here often, and don't mean to make waves (or mp3's)(lol). But... I just saw the heard jump. Word's like "I bet" and "I'm sure" are fine for individual comments... but many people just scan-thru, and just kinda take everything to heart (unfortunately). Are there any cold, hard, 'documented' facts to back-up those statements? Do you know for sure that Cynthia has signed a non-compete agreement?
Did I miss a post by Cynthia saying the prive is going up, and you can't buy ZO's from me anymore?
Ya see... I doubt that's the case... I could be wrong... but I still doubt it. AH may offer to sell ZO's for $X (or is it that they have a ZO?).... but who would buy a ZO at such a mark-up, when they could just buy one, directly from the maker (with the approriate waiting time)?

You shoud visit this site every now and then before flying off like
that:

http://www.cyndustries.com/modules_prices.cfm

What is it about "I bet" and "I'm sure" you don't
understand? I'm not sure (that word again!) if English is your
primary language, but those are simple terms for *speculation*.

There is nothing in the list rulse that forbids member speculation.
Lighten up...

Same price both places:

http://www.cyndustries.com/modules_prices.cfm
http://www.analoguehaven.com/cyndustries/zeroscillator/

It is what it is. [shrug] You always have the choice to not buy one, right?

Because the maker has a spotty delivery record (except for "celebrity"
clients like you) and Cyndustries has the same price posted on their
website as AH:

http://www.cyndustries.com/modules_prices.cfm

And AH doesn't require full payment or deposit at the time of the order
being placed. You get a spot in line for free!

Relax and take a deep breath Mr. Morbius...this is just a frivolous

Don't get all worked up in a frenzy because you made a mistake. Plus
your foul mouth isn't adding any credibility for you. Should be

I was referring to the 'jump' of several people posting, afterwards. What is it that I don't understand?... How the herd now seems to think the price has gone up to $1k.
The list rules here aren't relevant in this case... (and lighten-up 2-U-2).

that:

What is it about "I bet" and "I'm sure" you don't
understand? I'm not sure (that word again!) if English is your
primary language, but those are simple terms for *speculation*.

There is nothing in the list rulse that forbids member speculation.

I don't (and won't!) buy this. Nobody else raised their prices when
they went with Analogue Haven. Blacet, Livewire, Plan B, Cwejman.
They all remained the same once they went with this middle-man. Ah is
now getting the price we all used to get, whatever.

ZO : anyway !

2006-11-03 by stefanbonnet

I've never dealt with cyndustries, the ZO is still on my list, whatever...(and cynthia seems to
be nice...)

I sincerely hope this price increase will make manufacturing ZO's less complicated as well as
shorten those awfull delays (weeks : right, months : bad).

I do understand some complaints, especially since signs of marketing care show up, though...

I think the more likely reason for the price hike is smaller batch numbers being made?
200$ markup as a middle man per module ? i doubt that.............jesus , i'll become a wholesaler / retailer !

So you really think a meager 20% margin is ridiculously out of line
and way too high for retail? I wonder what Guitar Center margins are
like. I sold software to music retail stores and they all expected
40-60%!

20% markup on a low volume items is probably not much at all in
retail. You can easily become a middle-man yourself. Make the up-
front financial risk and commit to buy the same quantities that AH
signed up for and I bet Cynthia will extend a 20% discount if you
ask. Then try selling them at $995 and see how wealthy you become ;-)

Re: ZO's thru Analogue Haven!

2006-11-04 by dayjob111

perhaps the prices went up to slow dermand/orders so that they can keep up w/orders?
that's one way to slow things down a bit.. raise prices...

also, a lot of retailers raise prices but when you order something.. it's in stock ready to
ship so you pay a premium since you dont want to wait..

but i guess if the prices are the same all around then that doesn't apply here...

i wonder if there are other factors for a price increase that we aren't aware of yet?

Actually what would be really helpful is cynthia giving everyone, her
valued costumer, an answer on whats going on, no?

specially people that are waiting on orders and havent heard anything
in over a month, when they were told shipping would ressume then.

Re: ZO's thru Analogue Haven!

a month? he he.. talk to me a year from now. ;) did ZO's derail anyone elses module
order? ;) lol.

I've been kept up to date the entire time so there were no surprises. still a little frustrating
but the 1 module i ordered required a redesign somewhere along the way and that meant
new parts etc.. so here i sit w/o said module that i ordered 11 months ago. but there were
12 of them on back order when i ordered so i think part of me knew it would be a long
hall.

the new ship date is december sometime... so fingers crossed that comes together. if not
i guess i'll .. i'll... i dont know what..

i'm just hoping all the waves are behind cyndustries and it's smooth sailing ahead. they've
had quite a past 6 months.

i know my order will get filled and one day i'll have a nice surprise in the mail and i can see
if said module is the thing i needed for this slippery sound in my head.

cheers.
