Myself, I like to use it..
I've got an SDS8, for which I built a MIDI interface ;-

What I want now is something like an SDS7 or 9, something with EPROM
playback, though I could build myself one (I did once before).

Have you used any of those 'pick ups' you can get, which attach to your
existing kit to give you MIDI?
I'm not a drummer, but I like the idea of using a real drummer, but with
electronic sounds.
