If the entire mounting is wrecked by the battery acid you should really 
clean it. THere might even be rewiring to be done. :(

My third MTM arrived today. Version 4 of the OS and a serial in the 
700's. Remains to be seen if it works since the Ebayer who sold it said 
it was "as seen". The battery is old but not leaking (yet) and it does 
accept commands, stores changes and have all the knobs. Cannot be all 
bad then. :)
