Vintage Simmons Drums (UK) Users Group

I'm a longtime Simmons fan who is thinking of buying a set of heads to play with.

As for a brain, is it possible to interface the Simmons heads with the USB or serial input of a laptop running a program where you can assign an audio sample for a particular head?  During a performance, you could have a set-list of sample assignments for each song, then select another list of sample assignments for the next song and so on.  It seems simple in theory since the head is a simple trigger that activates the sound in a receiver (brain) and I've been told that the Simmons heads can trigger other brains as well.

Does such an interface and software exist?  I'd love to take something like this on the road and perform in an 80s revival band.
