Hi David... and list! I see your point. Since I just occasionally actually _play_ my drums I prefer triggering and it working perfectly... But to make up for the not drumming thing... When i _do_ hit those pads in realtime I have a TMI that allows me to play sounds from sampler, my MAM DRM-1 etc too so it could've been a lot worse... ;) electronically yours, jesper www.electronic-obsession.se back online! ----- Original Message ----- From: "david pinnington" <cheesegrater@...> To: <Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Monday, December 01, 2003 4:17 PM Subject: Re: [Simmons Drums] SDSV synth-in & SDX > > Could it be that it's easier to tweak the sounds during playback for > example?! > > obviously different strokes for folks > me i love samples but it took me a couple of years to track down a sdx (now have 2 of them - greed is good) when i could happily go with a roland td10/ddrumetc - another dirty word!! sdx is more than a drumset it's a audio workstation albeit a little long in the tooth when going against more samplers etc > i used to demo sdsv when i worked in a music shop when i was 20 (i'm now 39) and finally bought a sds9/mtx9 in '87 i think (stolen in '94) combo which gave me the digital/anologue but that soon was added to by akai s900/1000's > anyway the point i'm making is if you have a sdx you will have a whole range of dynamic playing option with the zi that the riot shield setup could never afford and it's simmons by simmons if you see what i mean > > i'm sure theres something in here about trying to fire up a ford model t with a jumbo jet > ----- Original Message ----- > From: jesper > To: Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Monday, December 01, 2003 2:30 PM > Subject: Re: [Simmons Drums] SDSV synth-in & SDX > > > > arcimge: > > if you're on a sdx why would you want to trigger a sds v ??!! > > get the sounds you want and sample it itnto the sdx and you're away > > GAAAAAH!!!
