Vintage Simmons Drums (UK) Users Group

Hi all.

Can someone tell me if there were two or possibly more versions of the
SDS7 pad?  The reason I ask is because I have two very different sets of
pads with XLR connectors (not an SDSV though).  One has softer (slightly
rounded) edges on the back shell and uses T-bolts to secure it to the
stand, the other looks more like an SDS9 pad with sharper edges and
requires a drum key to secure. Again, both have XLR connectors.  I'm
guessing that the softer edge version was the first.  [:-/]
