The original SDS7 pads have a resistor soldered to the xlr. The sense of this resistor was to avoid crosstalk together with the SDS7s brain. So the trigger output signal may be too poor for some other brains. You can simply remove it, then it is compatible to all brains. The SDS7 pads are a little difficult to open: If you look at the sides, you'll find some staples under the rubber. Take care not to break the plastic while removing them.

  I have a question about Simmons pads. I have just purchased a full set of SDS7 pads off of ebay and was wondering wich brains are compatable with these pads? The have the XLR connections on the pad. Thank you.
