Vintage Simmons Drums (UK) Users Group

I don't know if anything in the Simmons circuits are patented.  From 
the schematics I've seen, there's nothing revolutionary going on, so I 
really doubt it.

The trick would be letting people know you're selling an SDS3/4 clone 
without using the Simmons name.  That's when GC would get interested.
