Yes. One more pad to trigger the hats and I  believe any momentary footswitch 
will do. An original SDS-5 hi-hat pedal is  difficult to find. I found mine 
after 4 yrs. of searching. However, a Roland  FS5-U (not the FS5-L) will work. 
Though, it's uncomfortable to use w/out shoes  and some velcro or tape to keep 
it in place. As for the pads, most any will  work. You just need the proper 
cable.
