Hi Nick, first thing you can try is to polish the backside plastic shell with cotton wool you normally use for car polishing. Try some polish for old car laquer. This works pretty good concerning little scratches. For major scratches ask your local varnisher (honestly) ;-) For the rubber (trigger) surface ordinary rubber cleaner is a good choice, if you have heavy dirt, try some liquid plastic cleaner, this dissolves the outer dirty layer of the rubber surface including stick marks. If we are talking about SDS 5 pads: Use the car polish mentioned above also for the trigger surface. That makes the acrylic surface like new (after hours...) Good luck Wolfgang --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, "ultraharmonizer" <ultraharmonizer@y...> wrote: > hi, > does anyone know if there a way to retouch the color of a simmons kit to make it look > shiney and brand new again? what kinda material is it? is there some type of plastic > coating or paint that will work for this? im interested in doing this to a white kit. > thanx! > Nick
