patch cord color/length combos

patch cord color/length combos

2002-01-09 by Bob Roesler

Hey all,
I'm getting ready to finish up a panel of diy modules and I'm going to be needing more (longer) bananas. Can anyone out there give me the length+color combinations for any patch cords longer than the 18"(red)?
Thanks,
Bob

I just bought a big pile of banana cables from:

Circuit Specialists
22 S. Country Club Drive #2
Mesa, AZ 85210
Phone: 480.464.2485
http://www.web-tronics.com/

Banana cables here:
http://www.web-tronics.com/test-equipment-test-leads---cable-assemblies-bana
na-to-banana-leads.html

They've only got red and black, but they've got 20", 30" and 40" cables.
They're not quite up to the quality of the Pomona (spelling?) cables - but
they seem OK. Not too stiff.

Hope this helps...

Thanks, Les, but I know I can get the Pomonas from Brill, and in the
*proper* color/length combinations, I was just wondering what those comob's
are.

Anybody out there?

thanks

Bob

what kind of pricing does brill have? their site only lets you search
by part number with no catalog lookup. makes it hard to spend your
money. do you have a part number or pricing? i'm looking to recable
and i need a ton of new pomona's.

I'm *still* confused by the above.

What the hell is a "proper" length? If I need a 43 inch long cable to get
from point a to point b, I go looking for the closest thing that length or
longer. "Proper" length to me means - as long as it needs to be.

I'm still looking for day-glo colours, but red and black ain't bad!

here is the pomona patch cable sheet.

http://www.pomonaelectronics.com/pdf/534_d_b_1_01.pdf

brill carries lots of colors in the various lengths: black, blue,
brown, green, grey, orange, red, violet, white, and yellow. i'm not
sure what their pricing is as the site has a "call for pricing". do a
search on "b-" and you will find them. the part numbers are "b-(cable
length)-(color abbreviation)"

the color abbreviations are:
BLK
BLU
BRN
GRN
GRY
ORG
RED
VIO
WHT
YEL

Re: [Serge Modular] patch cord color/length combos

2002-01-21 by Bob Roesler

Hey Les,

what i meant was what color/length does STS use?

for instance, when i got my panel and patch cords originally, each patch
cord of the same length was the same color.

i am under the (perhaps mistaken) impression that STS ships a *standard*
color/length set of cables, and was hoping to conform to that when i ordered
new cables. obviously i can match the lengths i already have, but as i'll be
needing some longer lengths, i don't have anything in my posession to match.
