[Fwd: Modcan Responds]

this was sent to me personally by bruce duncan of modcan. he states
that it was okay to post it
to the list if i thought it was appropriate, which i think it is.

please note that mr. duncan does not address (what i felt to be) the
    prime topic of our sometimes
rancorous debate: the seemingly clear inference that modcan directly
copied the fascia of a couple
serge modules. i have asked him privately if he cares to respond to
    that pointed question.

after this, lets move on. and yes i admit to being the main shit
disturber on this issue; personally, it
really bugged me and i wanted to know what the list thought. it turns
out that folks who own modcan stuff
thought it was a stupid thread, but thats pretty predictable: no
    surprises there. if you thought
it was worthwhile, then great.; i did too. if you thought it was silly,
    well thats that. its over.

    thanks for the bandwidth,

    matt

np: bowies ziggy thru serge FRS, WAD, and VCFS....yeow!

    Matt,
Yes it's time to move on if only for those list members who have obviously
found this sometimes personalised slanging match tiresome.
How unfortunate that you couldn't move on without making a couple of final
    less than charitable remarks.

I *never* thought this was a stupid thread. I've tried to see both sides.
Likewise I thought 'r' made some very good points.
Trying to involve two tiny, one man band, synth builders in a legal battle,
    now that's another matter.
At the end of the day it seems all there is to argue about is a couple of
    faceplate designs.
If you are 1. a lawyer and 2. running this list, I expect you to be the last
person singling list members out with slightly dismissive comments.
This whole thing started because John P. and I expressed our views on the
pros and cons of ModCan. If the debate had centred around that I think it
would have been a very interesting and useful thread for Serge list members.
Finally, I personally apologise for keeping this going for at least one more
    contribution.
