Wave Proc M-odule

Wave Proc M-odule

2008-08-03 by hansgrusel

Received my Wave Proc on thurs + spent the succeeding days head over fist inside it.

First impression:
Talk about meat; There's a firkin 20-ton ribroast inside this thing!

Notes:
Triple Waveshaper- 1st serge module I ever touched some 15 years ago. Super early
version not in a panel but just in a box, so I was a bit nostalgic about this one-- M-odule
delivers the goods 110%. Everything from overdrive in single, to full on shred in series. As
one would expect, it always hold ups with super sonic detail in all registers no matter what
you throw at it. Dance the cv ins in series w/ the gator's ncomp into pulse divider for a
grand rollick.

Wave Multipliers:
A stellar 3-plier set. What can I say: a classic's classic.
Top section: overdrive/vca.
Mid section: overtones out the ass plus DC coupling in.
Bottom section: even more over the top shreds. Take some low harm content into both
audio inputs then feed the cv out back into your osc source you'll have rock neck for days.
Then take a crack at it with cv instead of audio. Versatility to the nines.

Ring mod:
Rex had mentioned he was workin on the bottom end of this one. Looking at chest
implosion with a supersub. can't wait to wail this one live thru a good full on PA. Again the
range and detail of this sucker would be hard to beat.

Mixer:
3 in 1 (banana) out.
#3 in with +/- or null. Again top of the top in quality.

X-fade:
The M-odule mainstay. Two in. 1/4 inch + banana out w/ vc xfade + vc gain.
A gem of a gateway from serge to speakers.

See photo section for pics from sts in m-class folder.

More on the triple osc + gator m-class w/ some exx as soon as I have a moment to gather
it all together.

Great panel.
What is the price off this one?

great to see all these modules coming out....still would have thought
the middle power panel should have been silver...but would be
interesting to see a full modular with the black streak .

Re: Wave Proc M-odule

any chance of getting larger photos? i see there looks to be an ADSR
module coming?

Re: Wave Proc M-odule

should be one up now call Wave Proc Rendering. click on "Large"

Wave Proc price:
$ 2,000
w/ the [DAD] balanced out 'XLR' & 1/4" t-r-s options: + $300

i'm working on a patch now, as i type, taking stepped out from the SSG into the TWS in
series, out to PCO #1 running into the bottom section of VCM in1, and PCO #2 running
into in2, then, VC'ing the bottom VCM with right side of TGO ---- getting a messed up
reverse tape loop sounding sorata thing. lovely!

Again I'll try to post some exx this week.

ok quick ex. of patch below. in files sec called: SSG_TWS_VCM2.mp3

Notes:
if i took the wave proc out of the picture this would be more of a classic sample + hold
sorta thing.
put the TWS + VCM into the equation, audio shapeshifter appear.

I just tried something like this. Nice! Detuning two oscillators mixed
to the input of the TWS yields unexpected results at certain ratios.

thanks Matt for checking it out!

Hi Hans
I think I'm clear on everything except for: what's going into the SSG?
Thanks

Re: Wave Proc M-odule

2008-08-06 by hansgrusel

hey John,
thanks for checking the patch out!
to answer, going into the bottom stepped of the SSG as follows:
gator TGC left pulse out to TGC pulse in right
CV out of left TGC going into –in of NCOM
CV out of right TGC going into +in of NCOM
divide by out going to PDIV in
/ 3 /5 /7 going into sample in of SSG
self cycle bottom of SSG
than take stepped out to TWS bottom in
and so on to rest of the patch below.

You can steer the overall tempo w/ the TGC left side frequency knob.
I just stepped off a plane so I hope this is coherent.
Best to you!

Hi Hans,
How are you accomplishing this? You have three different PDIV outputs
going into the sample in of the SSG?
Thanks!
Matt

Re: Wave Proc M-odule

2008-08-06 by johnrichoux

Hello Hans & Matt
Thanks for the clarification of the patch, I will try it today. I don't have a Gator (yet) ("hi
Rex!"), but I think a DTG will sub for the TGC.

I have the same question as Matt. (I get a little nervous stacking inputs) I am still new to
the NCOM, but it seems to behave differently from the PDIV in a way that I did not expect.
The NCOM appears to me to send out a pulse every N triggers, while the PDIV remains
high for N/2 time. So, there is overlapping in the PDIV outputs. Would these add voltages
when stacked to an input?

Anyway, it has been great fun messing with this patch. In the 10+ years of having this
gear, I don't believe I have ever used the blue output of the VCM. The beast is full of
surprises.

Thanks
John R

correct.
Multiple divisions into sample give you something more than a classic sample'n'hold type
sound, god bless banana plugs.
give it a whirl.
