DIY and Serge scans from Synapse, 197x

Not sure if everyone here has heard of Synapse. It was a small synth
magazine out of LA in the late 70's, with a lot of great interviews,
techniques, and construction articles. I've scanned a few from my
collection and have placed them in ftp://ftp.technotoys.com/pub/Synapse.
These include schematics and design notes from Serge himself (writing under
the name Arpad Benares), as well as as some Serge ads and a Digital
DroneZilla schematic.

Jim,
Some people have asked me about this long expired magazine. Thanks for putting them up and adding to the Serge history. Yes, Serge did publish as Arpad Benares, and used that name quite regularly in the 70s in publications and correspondence. He told me he got the name out of thin air, from the Indian river and the "R" pad on the Serge circuit boards.
These pads are the hook up points for wires to the front panel to the electronic PC boards. Don't know why he chose "R," and, in fact, I don't know that we ever got as high as "R," since we started from "A" and moved up. The biggest circuit board in the original Serge modules was, I believe, the TKB, which I laid out, and which suffered from some swooping traces just because I had so much room to route on that board and wanted to have a little fun. This was long before CAD PCB layout.
