Sorry to be late in responding on this thread...
I've played with all three delays although I haven't had too much time on the
Blacet. Depending on what you are doing, they all have their unique places.
I think the MF-104 is the most forgiving in that you can really work the knobs
without things getting out of control. It really has a great repeat that degrades
in a pleasing way. I don't think it is useful for short delay effects.
The Serge is still a bit of an enigma to me. I need to spend more time with it. It
has some great sounds and good control but I haven't hit the right musical use for
it. It can certainly warp a sound but I get mud more often than I like. Perhaps
I'm playing with longer delays than I should for the device. The control however is
excellent.
In my limited experience with the Blacet, I liked what I heard. There is a wide
range to work with and it didn't get too out of control but it certainly has ranges
that get a little carried away if you aren't careful.
Of course, if you don't need VC control, I think the Yamaha E-1010 is a superb
analog delay. I have one that I bought new in 1978 and it is still going strong
today. There is a certain character to the delay and chorus on this unit that I
haven't heard elsewhere.
