To limit the number of steps, patch the clock (a square wave or pulse) to the CLOCK input, patch the stage gate output (the row of red jacks above row A) for one more than the desired length of the sequence to the RESET input.
To expand the length to 64 steps, patch the clock to the CLOCK input and step 16 gate output to the VERT CLOCK input and take the output from ABCD.

I've got a PDF of the Gold book already and I was able to find some general info on the TKB in there but nothing super specific. I've been meaning to go through some of those learning patches but they don't totally apply to my system.
What about limiting the duration of the sequence to under 16 and expanding the sequence up to 64?
