Re: Customization

Here's a picture of the Dual ADSR M-odule. http://www.serge-fans.com/m-class-dualADSR.cfm

Maybe you've already seen it but I don't think the extras on there would be wasteful. You've obviously got a very specific plan for your synth. It kind of buggs me too that they aren't doing custom jobs any longer but maybe Rex could be persuaded? I've had no luck getting the serge planner to work on my computer but I'd probably be upset as well if I couldn't have the system I'd spent days or weeks planning out. I think what Rex has in mind for STS is to make some level of customization possible with the M-odule series and also lower his costs by making more functions available in larger numbers. You might not be able to have your Comparator sitting right next to your schmidt triggers or whatever but I bet the cost of doing custom jobs has gone up too much for the company to bear while ordering bulk PCBs and bulk screen printed front panels has made it possible to get more of the function blocks into circulation at a more affordable price for everyone. just my two cents. Again, I can imagine your frustration about the lack of customization and not wanting to settle for something which feels inferior.

Hi,

I am not aware if there is an M-module with two ADSRs but even if there is one, it would also have additional modules that maybe I don't need. Maybe in the (distant) future they will prove handy but for now it's a waste of money and space.

As regards the functionality of the black strip, I still think that all of this could go to the back of the panel and save valuable space.

The irony is that I have been wanting a Serge since day one, have spent countless hours designing panels with the Serge Planner and now that I have the money to buy it, I can't have any customization. I have designed it very logically (at least as logical you can get with a modular) and in a way that fits my workflow. I know that this is a modular system and things can get spaghetti after a while, but you get the idea.
