Re: Analog Shift Register

2004-02-18 by S V G

Douglas Lynner (the editor of Synapse) was a good friend of Serge and would stop by from time
to time back in the late 70's when I worked there. He had an ancient 6 panel system (even back
then it was ancient) that we were working on. Fond memories of that magazine and of Douglas. I
remember that when we replaced all the jacks on his beast, I used his old ones on my system. Much
heavier duty than the newer ones, with a solid metal shaft. This required the use of a nylon
washer to isolate the jack from the front panel. Every once in a while, there would be a stray
sliver of metal that would jump that gap (in the building process) and wreak havoc with the
testers. (The output jack on my upper Positive Slew if I remember correctly, eh Darrel?)

Ramble on,

Stephen
