Moving things along.
Not being specific about STS but I do think this kind of thing is becoming a
huge issue. I also agree that it's neither professional or businesslike.
I have rejected buying into some modular systems because I know the delivery
times are never adhered too and end up being extremely lengthy.
I recently waited nearly 9 months for a couple of modules, which was
unforeseen when I ordered them.
At this point I have to say congratulations to Bruce Duncan who has always
delivered Modcan modules within a reasonable time frame. I recently enquired
about some new modules and he replied his workload was very heavy and he was
endeavouring to hire more staff and move to a bigger facility.
Communication is key. I think the modular manufacturers should be honest
about delivery times and keep their customers well informed about delays as
they crop up. I get the impression with some of them that if you don't make
a big noise and become a nuisance your order is likely to slip backwards and
be replaced by the orders of customers who are being obnoxious.
This is a sorry state of affairs.
Another example I want to highlight is Analogue Systems. Bob Williams has
sold a huge amount of modules in the last 5 years and I've never heard of
any complaints about delivery times.
