A3 Printing - Epson 2100

A3 Printing - Epson 2100

2007-10-08 by tribblechristopher

I've had no problem with image size on A5 and A4 printing, but hit the
first QTR problem with A3 today. Images were sized in Photoshop as
38cm on the longest dimension and at 300 ppi. I selected 100% /
centred but could never get the print anything bigger than around 30
cm and never get it centred on the paper. Anyone with any experiences
or comments? VERY grateful for any advice...

As a follow up, I've been banging my head on this and still not got
there -- my latest idea was to create a custom size paper.

ISSUE 1 - if I used mm as the size unit I couldn't get a width greater
than 330 !!

ISSUE 2 - switching to inches and setting a paper size of 11.69 x
16.54 I got something on screen which looked like an A3 sheet, but in
the end still only get a print that is 23cm wide rather than the 27cm
I'd wanted.

Does ANYONE have a solution? I've been getting this with both 2.5.2.0
and 2.5.2.1.

It's doubly frustrating as I'm trying to produce exhibition prints at
the moment, and QTR is the only tool I have that produces such
beautiful, neutral B&W.

Thanks

Chris

This has been a bit of a monologue - but I thought someone out there
might give a wry smile...

Problem solved. I was printing onto A3+ - not A3! I'd not realised
that I'd ORDERED A3+ from firstcall-photographic.co.uk + I'd not
registered that this was what had been delivered.

I simply didn't read the packaging and went for the A3 option in QTR.
Now having set the paper size to CUSTOM / 13" x 19" I'm printing very
very happily, getting depth of blacks + levels of fine detail that I
had never hoped to achieve from inkjet printing. The REALLY good news
from my perspective is that with this combination, so long as I can
get inks for my 2100 I see no need to spend money on a replacement.

Thanks to Stephen Billard for responding to a personal email. Thanks
to the list for the wealth of information here.

Best
