This has been a bit of a monologue - but I thought someone out there might give a wry smile... Problem solved. I was printing onto A3+ - not A3! I'd not realised that I'd ORDERED A3+ from firstcall-photographic.co.uk + I'd not registered that this was what had been delivered. I simply didn't read the packaging and went for the A3 option in QTR. Now having set the paper size to CUSTOM / 13" x 19" I'm printing very very happily, getting depth of blacks + levels of fine detail that I had never hoped to achieve from inkjet printing. The REALLY good news from my perspective is that with this combination, so long as I can get inks for my 2100 I see no need to spend money on a replacement. Thanks to Stephen Billard for responding to a personal email. Thanks to the list for the wealth of information here.
