I am converting my E2200 to use QTR and K7 inks. I would like to know if it is necessary to purge my system first or do as InkJetMall says "No Purging Necessary". Thanks, I have checked the old messages and no one speaks directly to this issue. Jim Otto

I didn't run any special cleaning catridges through my 2200 when I converted to NK7. You do have to "purge" the system enough to get rid of any remaining color inks. I just printed the 7 color purge pattern file until there was no trace of any coloration in any of the sections. You can get the purge7.tif file from the MIS web site, but I believe it is available from several places on the web. Hi Everyone, Can anyone tell me how to change the B&W contrast of my prints? I use the Epson R2400, K7 inks, QTR and HanPhoto Rag Satin Curves. Epson Matte paper. I need more contrast in my print. Thanks for any suggestion. Best, Joe --------------- Please note that my new email address is js@... <mailto:js@...> .

Joe, Print out the 21-step target and check that it looks OK, with a good range of tones from white to black, and if you have a spectrometer, check the densities against the ideal density chart in the QTR distribution. Assuming that's all OK, your printing setup is probably fine, and your contrast issue is in the particular image you're trying to print. Best way to adjust contrast (in my opinion) is to apply a curve in a layer in Photoshop. --Daniel --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, Joe Szabo <js@...> wrote:
