searching for profiles

2016-10-08 by paulmwhiting@...

Am embarassed to ask this again ... I tried this folder on Paul's website but no luck. Perhaps it's been moved:

www.paulroark.com/BWinfo/Eboni-VT-Profiles.zip

but no luck.

Thanks!

Paul W.

A hyphen, that's all it was. Sheesh. Now another basic question... when I click on that link, nothing happens... shouldn't I get a zip file that I can download and unzip?

The zip file downloaded for me. Check your "Downloads" folder. It will also usually appear on the bottom left of the screen you';re looking at when you initiate the download.

It wasn't in my download folder... and there was no indication that I could download it. "Download" wasn't in the context options when I right clicked on the URL. I'm using Windows 10 - maybe that's the issue?

Strange....

I am running Windows 10, I clicked on the link in the email and the file was automatically downloaded to my download folder.

Also the filename appeared in the lower left corner of the web page. No problems.

Thanks for checking, Jim, something strange going on. I also went to my wife's computer and the zip file downloaded just fine in her Download folder. I emailed it to me... so I do have the file now.

Thanks to you too, Paul. I'll have to go to some Windows 10 support group.

Weird indeed.

Jim and Paul,

This morning I tried using Explorer to go to this Yahoo group, and Paul's zip file downloaded without a hitch. I normally use FireFox, hardly ever use Explorer. So, I've narrowed the download problem to my usual browser.

Stay tuned,

Paul W.

Went back to FireFox.... and this time it worked. I don't get it... I know the link had no typos. I used the link in Paul's post, just as I've been doing all along - for consistency.

Do you supposed downloading it with Explorer "jarred" something loose? That doesn't make sense. This gets stranger and stranger. Well, I'll drop this issue. File it under "unexplained".

Thanks all,

Paul W.
