I'm thinking of replacing my Epson 1400 with the new 1430. I assume that the 1430 is not currently supported by QTR, but is it similar enough to the 1400 so that an install script, such as "InstallR1430=R1400" could be used?

I'm not sure the install script will work but yes the 1430 is compatible with the 1400. Just setup the printer manually -- like doing a Bonjour printer. See Tutorial.pdf -- make a printer named Quad1400 and then run the Install1400 script. I'm a familiar user of QTR but am having trouble understanding how to Add the 1430 printer to be able to use the 1400 Profiles and also the Paul Roark Claria approach 1400 profiles. I use QTR on a PC with Win7. The 1430 is wireless but I can connect directly via USB to my computer. What specific steps do I need to do? There nothing you need to do on Windows. In QTRgui just select the 1430 printer and the Quad1400-MIS for curves (assuming that's the curve you want).
