Patch cables "laryn91"

thanks for the help,
just tell me how your wiring up this quad core for mono use. Do
you leave the shield unconnected? I like the small diameter of this
and the fact that it comes in a range of colors. It looks like theres
a bit of work soldering up all the cores tho...any problems?I wasn't
sure you could use this type of cable.I might try this stuff.
cheers and thanks again.

I usually connect the shield to only one end to minimize the risk for ground loops. Yeah,
stripping and connecting all those 4 core wires is a pain!

The reason I make my own cables instead of buying the manufactured molded ones is
mine have just enough stiffness so they don't just droop down into all the module panels.
In addition to interfering with knobs and switches, those thin molded cables are much
harder to visually trace since they're all laying flat on top of one another other on the
panels like a spaghetti rat's nest.

Plus I've had *a lot* reliability problems with those cheap molded cables - I think it's
certainly worth the effort to figure out how to make your own quality cables.
