One thing I can add (since I made the comment on the livewire/harvestman jacks) is that they mount to the PCBs very differently than the cliff jacks, so it's very possible that Peter can't just buy those jacks and drop them it without completely changing the PCBs.
As far as I can tell, Livewire and Harvestman are not actually using the same jack...they just have the same feel to them. That leads me to believe they are not the only jacks which operate in such a manner, and possibly these new round-nut jacks are similar, which is why I mentioned the Livewire/Harvestman jacks in the first place.
I'd like to hear someone else's thoughts on those jacks if they have Livewire/Harvestman modules...maybe some people *don't* like them! Two sides to every coin...

Those round nuts don't look so good to me....Why not get the
Livewire/Harvestman ones which look way better. By the way whats with
the black centres on these as opposed to the all metal centres on LW/H
jacks....are those black centre parts plastic or metal? Black centres
look cheap....I guess for whatever reason looks aside...reliability is
what counts most, FOLLOWED BY MODULES OF EXCEPTIONAL BEAUTY. Try for
the Livewire/Harvestman ones.....PLEASE.
