A dual VCA would be very useful for such things as controlling the level of envelope into lopass gate via velocity, sequencer row output, etc, or controlling lof depth via pressure controller/footpedal etc, not to mention the obvious signal lever uses, either internally, or at the output of a patch. Obviously, Doepfer's little 4u dual VCA would work, but I had an idea for a slightly more complex piece with a couple of useful add-ons - a 6-u wide dual VCA, from the top down: row 1: VCA 1 input, jack socket on the vertical centre line row 2: 2 items; LH a switch, AC/DC coupling, RH a socket, LIN VC IN row 3: 2 items; LH a switch, 0 gain, 1/2 gain, unity gain, RH a socket, EXP VC IN row 4: VCA 1 output, a jack socket on the vertical centre line The switch would be useful for tuning - you could use it to fully open the VCA to tune a VCO that's running through it, also to check the maximum level of a CV that's going through it, also as a performance control - some drastic timbral change could be instantly switched in using it. Probably there would be other uses as well, with experimentation. If Plan B were to introduce this piece, I'd buy 2 of them for sure, and I imagine they'd see a lot of use.
