FPE panels are anodized, not painted. Their black anodize is a bit on the flat side. I much prefer the MOTM/Stooge paint and silk screen, but it is not always available. If Doug can figure a way to do custom panels for people, with Stooge quality... that would be superb. Stooges looked exactly like MOTM to me. Mine are a little different. The textured paint is subtly different, the paint is whiter, and I'm still debating whether to match the graphics exactly.
