M4000 - late arrival

M4000 - late arrival

2006-08-02 by tronbros@aol.com

Dear All,

A quick update on the delay we have experienced getting these machines out
for any doubting thomases that might be lurking on the list.

Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control we are awaiting one piece of
circuitry that is clever and vital. A series of unforseen unforseens have held
us up in this regard and although we generate most things in the workshop,
electronic brains are not amongst our skills. All other parts sit patiently
awaiting assembly and the cabinet builders are ready to build. We've had the
keyboards here for 3 months!

Shit happens and we have to cope so apologies to those awaiting their M4000s
and those craving a glimpse of what we have to offer. It's frustrating but
we have to sit this one out.

Best,

Martin

I am looking forward to playing with your instrument Martin.

"one piece of circuitry that is clever and vital" ?
Is it a big backlit LCD display like my Optimus MD-1200?
Built in stereophonic speakers?
...or MIDI I/O jacks?

Nah, I'm guessing it's something that lets them read each of the six tracks
on the tapes individually, like a Chamberlin, instead of blending the sounds
as recently discussed for classic Mellotrons.
