Mellotronists

Has their ever been an instance of someone being sued or threatened
with legal action over sounds and/or backing tracks found on Mellotrons?  

I recall a BBC Radio 2 mellotron show from the mid 1990's in which
Julian Cope said he shy'd away from using the spanish guitar run heard
on Bungalow Bill for fear of being sued.
