yikes.
at least the seller is being pretty straight up about the condition,
but more pics, especially of the innards, would be helpful.


so what would it cost to bring this puppy up to snuff?

assuming the buyer can handle the refinishing of the cabinet and
other woodworking chores, and that it's reasonable "square", and
can handle wiring [replacing what needs to be replaced]...

somebody can fill in the numbers:

new motor card

new tapes

new motor [?]

head alignment and cleaning etc



so just how bad would it have to be to be considered too "rough"
that it's not worth restoring?

the one i did a couple years back was nearly this bad, at least
at first glance, and it's now fully working and sounds great.

just curious what the expert opinion is from those that have
restored more than i have...

Went for $2025. A little high for the condition, I think.
